Dhaval Chheda was born into a legacy. His family’s marketing and distribution business, established over 80 years ago in Vile Parle, Mumbai, was a household name. They worked with brands from various industries: FMCG, electronics, consumer durables, and mobile phones. The business had spanned four generations. Their reputation in the market was rock solid.
By the time Dhaval joined the business, they were hitting massive numbers. Their annual turnover was a staggering 2,200 crores INR. They had over 380 employees and branches across multiple locations. To outsiders, it seemed like a dream.
But beneath the glittering surface, the story was something else.
Dhaval, along with 18 family members, was involved in the business. The family focused on breaking records and achieving new milestones. But in the race to stay on the top, they neglected some serious aspects- They were continuously taking external funds to manage expansion and cashflow.
They were chasing growth at the cost of sustainability.
They were continuously taking external help for money inflow. Due to this, the debts kept rising.
Yes, the business looked successful on paper, but the reality was a nightmare. Despite their massive revenue, profits were nowhere to be seen.
With every passing day, they were drowning in chaos and confusion.
By the time they asked themselves, “Where is our money?” it was too late.
In 2014, Dhaval joined Business Vidyapeeth.

A part of him was skeptical. Could someone really help fix an 80-year-old business? But desperation forced him to give it a shot.
During his first session, he felt like a mirror was held up to him. The mentor, Mr. Mayour Nandu, pointed out serious issues in their business model. It was brutal, like being hit by a storm he never saw coming. Mayour Sir even predicted that Dhaval would go bankrupt within six months if things didn’t change.
Dhaval didn’t take it seriously. He thought he was infusing fear in him just like others. He went back to his usual routine.
But six months later, the prediction came true.
Their loans ballooned to 400 crores INR. Can you believe this? Even after a huge revenue of over 2,200 crores INR, they were crushed under this massive debt.
Over 40 banks were after them. Banks started seizing their properties.
Cheques were bouncing. There were over 100 court cases against them by the investors and others who were facing the financial downturn as well.
Their family’s top-grade reputation started crumbling down.
The stress didn’t leave Dhaval’s health. He suffered a heart attack and a paralysis attack. His mental and emotional state collapsed. His family’s pain and despair were overwhelming.
One day, standing on a bridge, he decided to end his life.
At that very moment, his phone rang. It was Mayour Sir.
Through choked words, Dhaval confessed he was about to jump. Calmly, Mayour Sir convinced him to meet first. That meeting wasn’t just a turning point—it was a lifeline.
Mayour Sir didn’t just offer advice; he became Dhaval’s anchor. Together, they started facing every challenge head-on. They dissected the business, step by step. They made tough calls to cut down losses. Found ways to tackle the loans, debts and how to improve funds flow without increasing borrowings. They took a deep dive into managing ways to slowly expand on businesses and product line that were risk free and have better cash conversion cycle. Mayour Sir along with the team played a vital role of continuously monitoring & navigating business decisions.
With the support of mentor and coaching sessions he regained Confidence and patience.
Each victory, however small, was a step away from the huge loss.
By 2021, Dhaval was officially debt-free.
Today, Dhaval’s family business is flourishing. Beyond that, he has launched six more ventures.
Dhaval credits his transformation to Mayour Sir and Business Vidyapeeth.
“They didn’t just open my eyes,” he says. “They opened my soul.”

From the depths of despair to new heights of success, Dhaval’s journey is proof that even in the darkest times, a guiding light can reignite hope and rebuild dreams. You just need the courage to step up and seek help, ask for guidance.
Business Vidyapeeth has been supporting and helping business owners throughout India to tackle even the most difficult of situations and turn them into the visionaries they deserve to be.
